We are surrounded by battles whether it’s in the news, in other people’s lives or our own. Battles are the result of a fallen world but too often we try to fight battles in our strength which inevitably leads to failure. The truth is the battle belongs to God and when we hand it over to him and exercise faith over fear he gives us the victory.
In this sermon originally given on 27th March 2022, I focused on 2 Chronicles 20 and what we can learn from it when we face battles in our lives. Ultimately it is a choice between fear and faith.
There are four challenges here:
- Rising to the challenge – not being intimidated by the devil, refusing to cower in fear
- Leading in Crisis – Daring to take a stand whatever the cost
- Being desparate for God to move
- Daring to see past the battle
